How to Choose the Right Antennas for Your Booster
Outside Antennas:
- Yagi Directional Antenna: This antenna is more powerful because it focuses on sending and receiving signals in one direction. It works best when there are no major obstacles blocking its path to the cell tower. It's not ideal for areas with large obstructions like hills or buildings.
- Omni Antenna: This antenna sends and receives in all directions, so it's better for hilly areas or if you need to support multiple carriers with towers in different directions. It doesn’t need to be aimed, but it also isn’t as strong as the Yagi antenna.
- High Gain LPDA Antenna: Perfect for areas with very weak signals, this antenna significantly boosts signal strength. It needs a clear line of sight to the cell tower and requires a sturdy mount because of its size.
Inside Antennas:
- Panel Antenna: Can be placed on walls or ceilings and directs the signal towards a specific area. This antenna is great for homes and tall ceilings in buildings.
- Standard Dome Antenna: Designed to mounted on the ceiling, this antenna spreads the signal evenly throughout the area. It's best suited for drop ceilings or spaces where cables can be run above the ceiling.
- Ultra-Thin Dome Antenna: This slim antenna also mounts to the ceiling, but is much is less noticeable. It's much stronger than a standard dome antenna, making it a great choice for places where both looks and signal strength are important.
Tips for Choosing:
- Choose Omni Antennas for general coverage with no aiming required.
- Choose Directional Antennas (Yagi or LPDA) when you can point directly at a cell tower and need stronger signal and more inside coverage.
- Interior Size Considerations: One antenna per 750-1,500 sq ft in homes, or 1,500-2,500 sq ft in open spaces like offices and warehouses.
Product Overview
Product Overview
The certified refurbished weBoost 475021R Drive X Vehicle Signal Booster is an affordable solution for boosting cell signal in your car or truck, surpassed only by the weBoost Drive Reach signal booster in boosting power.
The Drive X boosts all of the networks for all of the major carriers in the United States and Canada, for fewer dropped calls, fewer delayed text messages, and fast download speeds. The Drive X broadcasts boosted signal to your phone wirelessly and does not require your phone to sit in a cradle, so it can support multiple phones and data devices simultaneously.
The weBoost 475021R Drive X's inside coverage area will depend on your existing outside signal strength. In areas where you have a moderate existing outside signal, the Drive X will fill a normal vehicle with boosted coverage. As the outside signal gets weaker, the inside coverage area will shrink, until you may have to keep your phone within about 18 inches from the inside antenna in order to take advantage of the boosted signal.
Please Note: This refurbished version of the weBoost Drive X has been certified by the manufacturer to be in like-new condition and comes with all of the components that a brand-new Drive X does. The only major difference between the two is that the refurbished model only has a 1-year equipment warranty, while the new model has a 2-year equipment warranty.

Installation Overview
Installing the weBoost 475021R Drive X kit is very easy and can usually be done in just a few minutes. Because nothing is permanent, the kit can be transferred to another vehicle as needed.
- Mount the Mini-Mag Antenna: Start by mounting the mini-mag antenna on the roof of the vehicle. Ensure that the antenna is affixed to a metal surface for optimal performance.
- Position the Antenna Correctly: If your vehicle has a sunroof, position the antenna well behind the sunroof to maximize the separation between the inside and outside antennas. This helps to avoid interference between the two.
- Run the Cable: Run the antenna cable into the vehicle through a door opening. It's best to tuck the cable under the door weather stripping to protect it from damage.
- Connect the Cable to the Amplifier: Connect the antenna cable to the "Outside Antenna" port on the amplifier.
- Connect the Inside Antenna: Next, connect the cable from the inside antenna to the appropriate port on the amplifier.
- Locate the Inside Antenna: Place the inside antenna near where you'll typically be using your phone. Common locations include the center console or on the side of the driver's seat.
- Check Cable and Amplifier Placement: Make sure that the cables and amplifier are positioned so they won't be damaged when the front seats are adjusted. It's important to secure everything properly to avoid accidental damage.
- Maintain Safe Distance: Ensure that the inside antenna is kept at least 8 inches away from any person. Additionally, try to keep your phone approximately 18 inches from the inside antenna when using it to take full advantage of the boosted signal.
