How to Choose the Right Antennas for Your Booster
Outside Antennas:
- Yagi Directional Antenna: This antenna is more powerful because it focuses on sending and receiving signals in one direction. It works best when there are no major obstacles blocking its path to the cell tower. It's not ideal for areas with large obstructions like hills or buildings.
- Omni Antenna: This antenna sends and receives in all directions, so it's better for hilly areas or if you need to support multiple carriers with towers in different directions. It doesn’t need to be aimed, but it also isn’t as strong as the Yagi antenna.
- High Gain LPDA Antenna: Perfect for areas with very weak signals, this antenna significantly boosts signal strength. It needs a clear line of sight to the cell tower and requires a sturdy mount because of its size.
Inside Antennas:
- Panel Antenna: Can be placed on walls or ceilings and directs the signal towards a specific area. This antenna is great for homes and tall ceilings in buildings.
- Standard Dome Antenna: Designed to mounted on the ceiling, this antenna spreads the signal evenly throughout the area. It's best suited for drop ceilings or spaces where cables can be run above the ceiling.
- Ultra-Thin Dome Antenna: This slim antenna also mounts to the ceiling, but is much is less noticeable. It's much stronger than a standard dome antenna, making it a great choice for places where both looks and signal strength are important.
Tips for Choosing:
- Choose Omni Antennas for general coverage with no aiming required.
- Choose Directional Antennas (Yagi or LPDA) when you can point directly at a cell tower and need stronger signal and more inside coverage.
- Interior Size Considerations: One antenna per 750-1,500 sq ft in homes, or 1,500-2,500 sq ft in open spaces like offices and warehouses.
Product Overview
Product Overview
The certified refurbished weBoost Drive Reach Signal Booster (470154R) is the most powerful vehicle signal booster that Wilson Electronics offers. It features the FCC maximum downlink power and an increased uplink power back to the cell towers that allows it to be 2x further from the cell towers than its predecessor, the Drive X. This means that you'll get the same great coverage inside of your vehicle and can be even further from the cell towers while still maintaining reliable call and data speeds.
The weBoost Drive Reach boosts all of the networks from all of the major carriers in the United States and Canada, and is 5G ready, so you'll receive clear voice calls, fast data speeds, and reliable text messages. The booster broadcasts quality signal wirelessly inside of the vehicle, so you can use your phone like normal while enjoying great signal and fast data speeds.
The weBoost 470154R Drive Reach's inside coverage area will depend on your existing outside signal strength. In areas where you have a moderate existing outside signal, the Drive Reach will fill a normal vehicle with boosted coverage. As the outside signal gets weaker, the inside coverage area will shrink, until you may have to keep your phone within about 18 inches from the inside antenna in order to take advantage of the boosted signal.
Please Note: This refurbished version of the weBoost Drive Reach has been certified by the manufacturer to be in like-new condition and comes with all of the components that a brand new Drive Reach does. The only major difference between the two is that the refurbished model only has a 1-year equipment warranty, while the new model has a 2-year equipment warranty.

Installation Overview
Installing the weBoost 470154 Drive Reach kit is very easy and can usually be done in just a few minutes. Because nothing is permanent, the kit can be transferred to another vehicle as needed.
- Place the magnet mount antenna on the roof of the vehicle. If the roof is metallic, the antenna should attach without a problem. If you have a sunroof, position the antenna well behind the sunroof to increase the separation between the inside and outside antennas. For vehicles with an aluminum body, use the included adhesive disk to mount the magnet mount antenna to the roof.
- Run the cable under the door weather stripping and into the vehicle.
- Mount the amplifier in the trunk or under the seat. The amplifier can be stabilized using the included velcro or by screwing down the included bracket.
- Connect the outside antenna cable to the amplifier's outside antenna port and then connect the inside antenna to the inside antenna port of the amplifier.
- Locate the inside antenna near where you'll typically be using the phone, such as in the center console or on the side of the driver's seat. Ensure that the cables and amplifier won't be damaged if the front seats are adjusted. Keep inside antenna at least 8 inches away from any person and approximately 18 inches from where you typically use your phone.
